To Find a Restaurant:
1. Type the name of a restaurant you're searching for into the Search Box
(located at the top right hand side of the page)
Tip ▪ You can also use this search box to find reviews that contain certain key words. For example you could search 'children' or 'child friendly' and you'll be shown a list of reviews that contain those words. You dont have to put in the whole restaurant name either, if you dont know it.
2. Use the Restaurant Search facility on the left hand side of the page.
Simply select a cuisine, area of Doha and price bracket from the drop down menu and click the 'search' button. You'll then be shown a list of all the restaurants in Doha that meet your search criteria.
You'll notice that you have 2 ways in which you can select the location. Firstly, you can select an area from the drop down menu.
Or if you dont know the names of areas, then you can click on the link that says 'Or click here to select area on map'. Click on it, and a map will then pop up, on which you can select your desired area.
When you have selected your desired area, you will be taken back to the page. Just click 'Search' and you will be shown your results.
Tip ▪ You don't have to use all 3 options- you can just select 1 and leave the other 2 blank if you like.
3. Click on the A – Z button on the navigation bar at the top of the page.
You'll then be shown a list of all restaurants, bars and café's in Doha.
4. Click on the Mini Map on the left hand side of the page.
You'll then be shown a larger map of Doha.
You will notice there's a grid over the map that cuts it into 9 sections.
Click on the part of Doha you want to see, and the map will zoom into that section and show you red arrows pointing to all the restaurants in that area.
If hover your cursor over an arrow it will tell you what the restaurant is.
Click on it, and you'll be taken to that restaurants page.
You can also:
■ Find a restaurant that serves alcohol
by ticking the 'Licenced' box at the bottom of the restaurant search.
If you tick this box then you'll only be shown restaurants that serve alcohol.
If you do not tick this box, then you will be shown restaurants that do and do not serve alcohol.
If you want to see a list of all the restaurants in Doha that serve alcohol, then simply tick the 'licenced' box, leave the other options blank, then click 'search'.

Rules and Guidelines, for leaving your own review
1. Be objective, fair & polite
As tempting as it may be to log on and leaving a slating review after you've come back from a bad meal, always try to be objective about what you are writing. Saying 'It was rubbish and disgusting' isnt really objective and doesnt help anyone when they're reading your review. Try to justify your point, and give examples. This will help the restaurant improve, as well as helping other users make an informed decision.
2. Dont use profanities, swearing or innapropriate language
We want to be a honest and open review website, but it doesn't help anyone to swear. Any reviews that contain swearing / innapropriate language will be removed by admin and in extreme cases the member may be blocked from leaving any more reviews.
3. Write about all aspects of your experience, not just the bit that annoyed you
If you've had a terrible experience, write about it, but try to think about something good about your experience too. Were the waiting staff helpful? Did your food arrive quickly? It's just as helpful to leave a good review, as it is to leave a bad one. We don't want to be a website full of bad reviews- when you've had a really great experience at a restaurant, log on and leave a review. Don't just review the bad ones!
4. Keep your review short
About 5 lines is a good length. If it's too long, people are less likely to read it all.
5. Compare the restaurant to others in Doha, not restaurants in other countries
Doha isn't London and it isn't New York City. We know that at the moment, standards here aren't the same as in London or New York. It's more helpful to someone reading your review if you compare it to others in Doha, this will help users make an informed decision.
6. Self reviews are not allowed
If you own, work or are closely affiliated with a restaurant in Doha then it is against our rules to leave a review of your own restaurant. Any self reviews that are found to be by restaurant staff, owners or people closely affiliated with the restaurant will be deleted and the user will be given a warning. Serial offenders will be blocked and restaurants may be removed from our site altogether. You can still leave reviews of other restaurants though, as long as they follow our rules as set out above.
7. If you don't want to leave a review, you can just leave a rating out of 5
Think about the following things when you leave your review:
FOOD
- Quality of food & ingredients– taste, texture etc
- Presentation of food– aesthetics of dish, temperature, etc
- Portion of meal– adequacy of size
- Value for Money– all of the above in comparison with the dish's price
ENVIRONMENT
- Décor of Restaurant– interior and exterior
- Cleanliness of Restaurant
- Comfort of Restaurant– seating, tables, surroundings
SERVICE
- Helpfulness and competency of staff on arrival to restaurant
- Promptness of drinks order taken and delivered
- Presentation of Staff– Smartness / appearance
- Promptness of menus delivered, food order taken and food delivered
- Promptness of food cleared after meal
- Timing of bill delivered after meal
- General helpfulness and friendliness of staff during dining experience
Finally, when you go to a restaurant in Doha, walk in with an open mind and give it a chance. Don't think about the reviews you've read. Just because everyone else thinks the restaurant may be terrible, it doesnt mean you're going to have a bad experience too.
We hope that together, we can create an open, honest and unbaised forum to help improve the restaurant scene in Doha.
