Flying Carpet Restaurant
After this we made our way to the live cooking station. Here there were selections of meat, rice and pasta dishes to choose from. As well as this you can select meat or fish and ask the Chef to cook it for you. A nice idea but we're not sure how 'complicated' this will get when the restaurant gets busy. The food was good especially the chicken tikka. The desserts were our favourite however - a good cheese board (something of a rarity in Doha) and a selection of Arabic and International puddings ranging from Lebanese 'Um Ali' to an English cheesecake. Our advice is to make sure you save space for these desserts as they really were top quality.
Finally the service must be mentioned as it's rare to find such good and efficient service in Doha. The restaurant was quiet so it may very well be a different story once the restaurant gets busy, however when we went it was great. They were friendly and informative without being too overpowering. We are also told that they are going to start doing themed nights which we shall look forward to. Overall, the Flying Carpet Restaurant is an exciting addition to Doha but without a license to sell alcohol they are going to have to keep on top of their game to attract customers from other restaurants in the city.

I loved the environment and the service.
Food wasn't so great, it was "very good" though.
My friend and I went to the Flying Carpet for a fun day out after a very stressful year. This place is everything you could ever want in a restaurant, the environment was breath-takingly gorgious, the food was beyond perfection, service was amazing, we both felt like queens for those few hours and it was very refreshing. Yes, the buffet costs QR190 per person but it's worth every penny. Definitely recommend this restaurant to make any special occasion memorable.Report this comment
