The Dining Room

It is always refreshing to get the chance to go to a new restaurant in Doha and sample what they have and The Dining Room and the newly opened Fraser Suites was no different. The five star hotel and restaurant was a pleasure - the restaurant fresh, modern, classy yet friendly. It looks out to the street - if this was London or Paris it would have shoppers and passerby's walking past giving it that real city feel. It didn't have that but it certainly didn't take away from the atmosphere. We went at lunch time in which there is a set menu [for 100qr making it one of the best places in Doha for lunch]. We chose mushroom soup and a Greek salad for starters - the mushroom soup was beautifully seasoned and left us wanting more. For main course we had steak and salmon - the steak was tender, seasoned well and cooked to perfection. The salmon was one of the best we've had in Doha - and not only did it taste good but the presentation of the dish was world class. Dessert again could have easily have won a prize on taste and presentation as the'Chocolate bombe' was perfectly executed. All this was just on their lunch time menu - we can only imagine the high level in standards the dinner would produce! We imagine this restaurant becoming popular for business lunches in the day time and romantic dinners in the evening. For such a new restaurant, they definitely know what is going to work in Doha - and given time we are confident people in Doha will be talking about this restaurant with nothing but good words.
